<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of accelerating the setting processing of various items. <P>SOLUTION: Prior to inputting image data, input screen information is displayed which contains a content-independent setting processing item 402b in setting processing items that can be set to the image data, and sample image data 500 stored beforehand. The sample image data reflected by a setting input accepted for the content-independent setting processing item 402b are displayed as a preview image.
