<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicular drive system that can suppress unwanted increase in the rotation speed of a second electric motor or a predetermined rotary element of a shifting portion for thereby improving durability of the second electric motor or shifting portion. <P>SOLUTION: A control device for a vehicular drive system controls an engine rotation speed N<SB>E</SB>so as not to exceed an engine upper limit rotation speed N<SB>ELIM</SB>. The engine upper limit rotation speed N<SB>ELIM</SB>is changed depending on a second electric motor rotation speed N<SB>M2</SB>such that a second electric motor maximum rotation speed N<SB>M2max</SB>, influenced by the engine upper limit rotation speed N<SB>ELIM</SB>, is changed depending on the second electric motor rotation speed N<SB>M2</SB>. For example, when the second electric motor rotation speed N<SB>M2</SB>is relatively high, the engine upper limit rotation speed N<SB>ELIM</SB>can be lowered, and the second electric motor maximum rotation speed N<SB>M2max</SB>can be changed to a lower level for suppressing an increase in rotation speed of a second electric motor M2.
