REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM AND COMMAND TRANSFER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system capable of operating a television and various AV devices utilizing a remote controller of a set top box.

SOLUTION: The remote control system controls a plurality of devices connected to a bus. A command exclusive for the television originated from the remote controller 4 of the set top box 2 is transferred to the television 3, and a command originated from the remote controller 4 which can be operated in common among the devices connected to the bus is transferred on the bus as the same command with a code indicating a transmission destination attached thereto to the television 3 and a DVD player 1 or a DVD recorder 5 in an operating state by the set top box 2. The device which receives the common command executes the command when determining that it is a command to an own device from the state of the own device and does not execute the command when determining that it is the command for the other device.
