<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sprouted brown rice helpful to health promotion of humans and moreover which is without fermentation odor or abnormal odors, and to provide a method for producing the sprouted brown rice. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the sprouted brown rice comprises steps of casting tea leaves into powder, followed by charging in a sprouting process 1 of soaking brown rice in water for the rice to sprout. Since brown rice is soaked in water, water absorption action necessary for sprouting is produced and the rice turns into sprouted brown rice. Furthermore, catechin component contained in tea leaves is eluted in water which the brown rice absorbs, so that the catechin component of tea leaves is taken in the brown rice. As a result of this, the catechin-containing sprouted brown rice can be obtained. If tea leaves are powder in form, since their components tend to elute in water, more components are absorbed in the brown rice, a required amount of catechin can be contained with a small amount of tea leaves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
