<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not cause an image defect by making pressing force to a recording medium equal. <P>SOLUTION: A pressing means for pressing the recording medium against the surface of a photoreceptor includes a first pressing member 22a and a second pressing member 22b provided alongside the photoreceptor and pressing the recording medium against the photoreceptor side by turning, and a slider 24 engaged with a part of the pressing members 22a and 22b and moving along in the arranging direction of the pressing members 22a and 22b.
