PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion valve, controlling the temperature of a refrigerant discharged from a compressor from being elevated too high when refrigerating load is high in a refrigerating cycle using an internal heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This expansion valve includes a pressure sensitive actuator 13 for sensing a differential pressure between the pressure Px of a refrigerant delivered from the expansion valve 5 to an evaporator and the pressure Pe of the refrigerant returned from the evaporator and varying the load of a spring for adjusting a set value, wherein when the refrigerating load is very high and a large quantity of refrigerant is circulated, the actuator senses that the differential pressure before and after the evaporator becomes higher than a predetermined value, and the load of the spring 19 is reduced to raise the set value. The expansion valve 5 feeds a refrigerant containing much moisture into the evaporator, whereby the temperature of the refrigerant leaving the evaporator is lowered, and heat-exchanged by the internal heat exchanger to restrain the degree of superheat of refrigerant of heat-exchanged by the internal heat exchanger and sucked in the compressor.
