PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine and a program for automatically adjusting thread tension on the basis of needle thread information stored by a radio tag provided in a spool and bobbin thread information stored by a radio tag provided in a bobbin thread bobbin. SOLUTION: In the automatic thread tension control of the sewing machine of this invention, on the basis of a needle thread tension value preset for each pattern to be sewn, the needle thread tension default value M of a selected pattern is set (S21). Then, on the basis of the selected pattern and the kind of a needle thread read from the radio tag of the spool by a needle thread information reader, a correction coefficient P based on the needle thread information is set (S22). Further, on the basis of the kind of a bobbin thread read from the radio tag of the bobbin by a bobbin thread information reader, a correction coefficient S based on the bobbin thread information is set (S23). Then, the needle thread tension default value M is corrected using the set correction coefficients P and S (S24), and a pulse motor for thread tension adjustment is controlled on the basis of the needle thread tension value X after the correction (S25).
