PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner automatically switching illumination of the vacuum cleaner according to a cleaning environment. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes illumination lamps 112-114 provided at a suction port body 206 and irradiating a surface to be cleaned, and a switch circuit for automatically switching lighting and extinction of the illumination lamps according to the change in a direction of the suction port body 206 relative to an extension pipe 205.
