A mobile communication roaming system using Internet phones and a service method thereof are provided to reduce mobile phone roaming expenses by providing the same function as mobile phone roaming through an Internet phone, without the necessity of using an existing mobile phone overseas roaming service in the case of overseas telephone calls. A mobile communication roaming system using Internet phones comprises the first telephone network(61), the second telephone network(62), and an Internet phone server(40). If a call request signal for a called phone is received from a calling phone, the first telephone network checks whether the phone number of the called phone has been registered for a call forwarding service. If so, the first network makes a call connection to a roaming connection number appointed as a destination number for the phone number of the called phone. The second telephone network receives a call request signal having a destination number as its destination from the Internet phone server and makes a call connection to the destination number. The Internet phone server converts a voice signal, transferred through a telephone network, into a packet signal and makes a call connection with an Internet phone having a phone number registered with a user ID. In case a destination number appointed for the phone number exists, the Internet phone server makes a call connection to the destination number for every call request to the phone number. |
