<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery which has a gas supply unit and effectively eliminates foreign matter, such as water, generated in a channel. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel battery generates power by supplying a fuel fluid to one of a pair of electrodes making up an MEA 1 and an oxidizing fluid to the other of the pair of electrodes. At least one of the fuel fluid and oxidizing fluid is a gas, and the fuel battery includes the gas supply unit which transfers the gas through the channel 10 formed on the surface of the MEA 1, and a driving circuit which drives the gas supply unit. The gas supply unit has a vibrating plate 4 and a reflective wall that are disposed on both sides of the channel 10. The driving circuit executes regular operation control by which the vibrating plate 4 is vibrated to create a sound pressure gradient in the channel 10 to generate a flow of the gas from the entrance to the exit of the channel 10, and foreign matter eliminating operation control by which the vibration mode of the vibrating plate 4 is changed to eliminate foreign matter from the channel 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
