<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of image formation by suppressing a high temperature offset phenomenon even when the inside temperature of the apparatus is significantly high. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the inside temperature of the apparatus is detected by a thermistor 530B. A memory 520 stores a control reference temperature and an addition/subtraction value. The addition/subtraction value is a variable that continuously changes according to the inside temperature of the apparatus and has a zero value when the inside temperature of the apparatus is equal to the reference inside temperature of the apparatus. Based on the control reference temperature and the addition/subtraction value, the temperature control section 510 sets a control temperature, thereby adjusting the length of time that power is supplied to a heater 550. When the inside temperature of the apparatus, detected by the thermistor 530B, is higher than the reference inside temperature of the apparatus, the control temperature is set low.
