PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable anyone to easily adjust timing by making it seem that the timing of an encounter between a moving article and a mechanically-controllable operating body is static on a time axis.

SOLUTION: A display means D for displaying the time axis is provided in an operating device which adjusts the timing of the encounter between the moving article such as a falling one and the controllable operating body by controlling the operation of the operating body, so that the timing Ta of the arrival of the moving article in a prescribed position and the timing Tb of the arrival of the operating body in the same position can be displayed on the time axis t.
