The equipment for detecting the abnormal thermal condition of bearings in order to protect machines and/or installations, is a simple electronic device designed for continuous monitoring of local temperature, by means of cells that monitor the temperature, detect the onset of overheating and record it for every bearing under observation. These cells are made up of a temperature detector (1) which is bridge-connected with a semi-adjustable resistor (2), two comparators (5, 6), two ports (7, 8), two bistable circuits (3, 9) and two LEDs (4, 10). The equipment detects the overheated bearing (area) where the overheating occurred, then signals it, by lighting the corresponding LEDs (4, 10), and records the event until a dispatcher arrives at the scene, even when the area has gone cold. When overheating is detected, the equipment is able to activate a switching relay (14), which stops the machine and starts a second auxiliary machine, as well as a relay (11), which triggers the alarm systems (12, 13). If there are also an automation device and a computer system (21), the equipment can communicate with it to report the event that has occurred, via a digital channel.
