PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeder capable of accurately reading a document by preventing a document presser from being floated by a tensile force based on tilting of the document when reading the document to be fed in tight contact with a reading surface using the document presser. SOLUTION: A document feeder comprises: a document presser 30 which is disposed while facing a reading surface of a reading means and is mounted while being energized to press a document at a reading position 10a to a side of the reading surface; a feeding means which is disposed at a downstream side rather than the document presser 30 in a feeding direction while being spaced apart from a surface S including the reading surface, and is driven to feed the document in the feeding direction; and a floating preventing means 33 which is disposed between a terminal portion 30c of the document presser 30 at the downstream side in the feeding direction and the feeding means and prevents the document presser 30 from being floated up based on a tensile force of the document when feeding the relevant document over the terminal portion 30c and the feeding means.
