PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator which aims to reduce defects that cosmetics are heated uselessly, and the like. SOLUTION: In an applicator for applying cosmetics, this instrument has a receptacle which is adapted so that fluid cosmetics are held and a cap which closes the receptacle, and is equipped with the applicator which is fixed on a rod equipped with a coating head, a heating device which is controlled by a control circuit and is adapted so that the coating head is heated, and a sensor which is adapted so that the opening of the receptacle is detected by removing the cap. The control circuit is connected to the sensor and is adapted so that the heating device is operated only when the relevant sensor detects such opening. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
