PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance torque sensor. SOLUTION: This torque sensor includes: an elastic member 2 having first and second shafts 11 and 12 coaxially coupled to each other and being torsionally deformed when torsional torque is inputted across the first and second shafts 11 and 12; a permanent magnet 16 coupled to the first shaft 11 or one end side of the elastic member 2 to form a magnetic field therearound; a magnetic body 15 coupled to the second shaft 12 or the other end side of the elastic member 2, disposed in the magnetic field formed by the permanent magnet 16 to form a magnetic circuit, and having a structure in which the density of magnetic flux generated in the magnetic circuit changes when the relative position of the magnetic body 15 to the permanent magnet 16 changes owing to a distortion of the elastic member 2; and a magnetism detection element 27 for detecting the density of the magnetic flux of the magnetic body 15 generated in the magnetic circuit.
