<p>An assembling method and an assembling device of a carriage assembly in which inclination of a suspension from a reference angle due to deformation of a spacer portion can be eliminated as much as possible by suppressing collision of a ball pressing member against the inner circumferential surface of a spacer hole in a spacer portion at a step for fixing each suspension to the distal end of each carriage arm by pushing a ball having a diameter not smaller than the inside diameter of the spacer hole by means of a rodlike press member subjected to ultrasonic vibration and allowing the ball to pass in sequence through the spacer holes thereby caulking the circumferential edge portion of the spacer hole. After the ball (20) has passed through one spacer hole (12b), inside diameter of the through hole (36a) in a clearance holding plate (36) located in the rear of the spacer hole (12b) in the passing direction of the ball (20) is reduced as compared with the inside diameter of the spacer hole (12b).</p>
