A display device is provided to sense brightness of external light without effects of noise generated by parasitic capacitance formed between a photosensing circuit and a driving circuit for driving a display panel. A display device comprises a display panel, a driving circuit, an illuminating unit, a photosening unit and a controller. A photosensor reading unit has a noise avoidance unit for avoiding fault sensing of the photosening unit caused by noise generated when the driving circuit is operated. The noise avoidance unit has a second switch for connecting the photosensing unit with the photosensor reading unit, and a switch controller for controlling the second switch. The switch controller performs a control operation so as to turn on the second switch when the driving circuit is generating no noise. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) substrate(2) has short sides(2a,2b) and long sides(2c,2d) facing each other.
