<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte membrane which is low in methanol permeability, and excellent in proton conductivity and also in mechanical properties. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer electrolyte membrane is characterized by being a membrane containing one or more kinds of compounds selected from the polymers having a structure expressed by general formula (1) in an amount of 0.1-100 wt.% relative to the polymer electrolyte (in the formula, R represents one or more groups consisting of a 1-6C alkyl group, R' represents one or more groups selected from the group consisting of a methylene group, a sulfide group and a sulfonyl group, m denotes an integer of 1-3 and n denotes an integer of 2 or above, respectively). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
