<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vision recovery assisting apparatus, even if a connection line between units is infiltrated, capable of suppressing its effect on a living body and facilitating an implanting operation of an internal device. <P>SOLUTION: This vision recovery assisting apparatus comprises: an external device having a transmission means which converts electrical stimulation pulse data and an electric power for electrically stimulating cells constituting a visual nervous system forming a patient's visual sense, into prescribed signals and transmitting them; and the internal device having a receiving means for receiving the signals from the transmission means and outputting electrical stimulation pulse signals from an electrode based on the signals, wherein the internal device includes a first control unit for extracting the electrical stimulation pulse data and the electric power and converting them into optical signals, a second control unit having a light receiving means for receiving the optical signals, acquiring the electric stimulation pulse data from the light receiving result and the electric power, and outputting electrical stimulation pulse signals from the electrode based on the electrical stimulation pulse data, and an optical transmission member for connecting between the control units and transmitting the optical signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
