PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a decomposition product of a resin by the thermal decomposition of the resin which can be stably operated for a long period. SOLUTION: The method for recovering a decomposition product as a liquid by chilling a gaseous decomposition product formed by the thermal decomposition of a resin in a decomposition vessel, satisfies the following steps (1) through (4); (1): a step of feeding continuously into the decomposition vessel a fluidized gas, heated solid particles and a resin respectively and fluidizing the solid particles and the resin by means of the fluidized gas, (2) a step of feeding continuously a resin into a decomposition vessel from a position lower than half of the height of the solid particle-layer at a stationary state in the decomposition vessel, (3): a step of discharging continuously the solid particles from a position below the height of the supply position of the resin, and (4): a step of heating the discharged solid particles in a heating furnace and thereafter feeding the solid particles to the decomposition vessel.
