PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique effective for rationally performing the calibration of a water quality detection sensor in a water treatment apparatus constituted so that the water quality detection sensor is installed in a water stagnation region where water to be treated is stagnated. SOLUTION: In the water treatment apparatus 100, the water quality detection sensor 140 is installed in an anaerobic filter bed tank 130 and constituted so as to be automatically set to a submersion release state that the anaerobic filter bed tank 130 is released from the submersion by a water discharge pump discharging water when calibrating the sensor.
