PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting the contact pressure of the liquid coating machine which automatically adjusts the contact pressure of individual rotors, and a device for adjusting the contact pressure. SOLUTION: The liquid coating machine has a first rotor supplied with a liquid, a second rotor supplied with a liquid by the first rotor and a contact pressure adjusting means of adjusting the contact pressure between the first and second rotors, and is provided with a temperature measuring means of measuring the temperature of the surface of the first or the second rotor, the liquid on the rotors or the vicinity of the rotors to measure the temperature of the first or the second rotor, the liquid on the rotors or the vicinity of the rotors, and the contact pressure adjusting means is controlled according to the temperature measured.
