PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector equipped with a card detection switch where a contact plate is not easily brought into contact with a contacted plate by vibration and impact. SOLUTION: This connector 10 is equipped with a housing 2 and a detection switch 3. The detection switch 3 is constituted of the contact plate 31 displaced by the card 1 to be inserted and the contacted plate 32 brought into contact with the contact plate 31. The contact plate 31 has a movable piece 311, a movable piece 312 and a contact 313. The contacted plate 32 has a stationary contact 321 and a contact 323. The contact 313 of the contact plate 31 can be brought into contact with the contact 323 of the contacted plate 32, by the displacement in the thickness direction of the movable piece 311 and displacement in a direction substantially perpendicular to the thickness direction of the movable piece 311.
