PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filling level measuring instrument that works on the radar system for simply averting a waveguide device and its suspended part from being damaged. SOLUTION: This filling level measuring instrument comprises a signal transmitter for sending out an electromagnetic signal, an electric waveguide device for guiding the electromagnetic signal into a container and returning a reflective component from the container, and a signal receiver for receiving the reflective component of the electromagnetic signal, In this measuring instrument of a type, in which its upper end part is fixed to a device of the container by the suspended part, the waveguide device is provided with a tensile force inspection device between the suspended part and at least a portion of the waveguide device; and the inspection device has an obstacle part with respect to the electromagnetic signal, and the distance between the signal transmitter or the signal receiver and the obstacle part depends on a tensile force acting on the waveguide device.
