PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay unit for a multicore cable capable of reducing a storing space by allowing an external cable to be connected directly and eliminating unnecessary wiring, and to provide a programmable controller using the same. SOLUTION: A connector 3 for connecting a signal input source with the cable, a connector 2 with a plurality of poles provided at a signal output side, a terminal 5 for connecting a power source for supplying electrical power and a plurality of relays for connecting the connector 3 to which a signal is input with the connector 2 with the plurality of poles are provided. An external cable 6 with a connector terminal having poles as much as the poles of the connector 2 is attached to and detached from the connector 2 with the plurality of poles.
