The invention relates to a self-fluxing brazing piece. The piece comprise s a composite material comprising at least one inorganic material distribute d in a metal or metal alloy matrix, the inorganic material forming a flux du ring brazing to promote the formation of a thermally induced metallic bond. The matrix may be an aluminium silicon brazing alloy and the inorganic mater ial may be a potassium-fluoro-aluminate flux. The piece is made by spray for ming.
