<p>An automatic transfer switch (60) for automatically switching an electric al load between two power sources that includes a switch module (64) contain ing circuitry to facilitate the switching function, and having two attached input cables (61,62) and one attached output receptacle (67). The switch mod ule (64) may be mounted directly on or adjacent to the back of a piece of ra ck-mounted equipment, thereby minimizing the probability of a power failure between the switch (60) and the equipment. The switch (60) is relatively sma ll, requires no mounting space within a rack, and requires minimal cord leng ths.</p> |
