PURPOSE:To facilitate double-sided copying of the prescribed copy number of a double-sided document and to considerably shorten processing time by limiting the number of double-sided copies which can be made continuously from the document according to the number of transfer sheets which can be housed in an intermediate tray. CONSTITUTION:The document is placed on a platen glass 11 through an automatic document feeder (ADF) belt 9, and its front is copied. In a double-sided copying mode, the copied document is ejected by an inverting roller 100 to a paper ejecting tray 10. On the other hand, a transfer sheet is fed to a roller 29 through rollers 27 and 28 from a paper feeding part 4 and an image is transferred by a transfer charger part 25 in timed sequence. The transfer sheet is guided to a paper guide 33 and housed in the intermediate tray through a switch 70 to recopy it. When its back is copied consecutively, back transfer is carried out in the transfer charger part 50 from the intermediate tray 74 through rollers 79 and 80. When the number of transfer sheets which can be housed in the intermediate tray 74 reaches the number of copies which can be made from one document, the machine is stopped. In such a way, double-sided copying work can be facilitated to considerably reduce its time. |
