<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a fuel cell employing liquid fuel in output and its starting characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1 includes: a membrane electrode assembly having a fuel electrode 13, an air electrode 16 and an electrolyte membrane 17 sandwiched between the fuel electrode 13 and the air electrode 16; a collector 18 for the fuel electrode having a plurality of fuel circulation holes 20 opened in the side, in which the fuel electrode 13 is disposed, of the membrane electrode assembly; and a collector 19 for the air electrode arranged on the side, in which the air electrode 16 is disposed, of the membrane electrode assembly. Fuel is supplied from a fuel distribution mechanism 3 connected to a fuel holder 4 via a passage 5 to the membrane electrode assembly. The fuel distribution mechanism 3 has a plurality of fuel exhaust ports 32, of which 50% or more (number ratio) is arranged so as to cover at least some of the fuel circulation holes 20 of the collector 18 for the fuel electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
