摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding equipment with high reliability suited for mass production, capable of simply optimizing a fixing position of a welding electrode while restraining generation of conductive foreign substances during a welding process. SOLUTION: The welding equipment for a battery includes a collecting plate connected at least to one end of an electrode group made by winding around a cathode and an anode through a separator, an outer package can housing the electrode group, a sealing plate for sealing the outer package can, a welding electrode for welding at least two of the metal leads for connecting the collecting plate with the sealing plate, an electrode unit for fixing the welding electrode, a pair of heads equipped with at least one support face for fixing and supporting nearly a top part of the electrode unit, an up-and-down movement mechanism for moving the heads up and down, and a control part for controlling so as to pass electricity to the welding electrode at a time point when the heads reaches nearly a bottom end of the up-and-down movement by the up-and-down movement mechanism.
