PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of easily performing engagement operation of both connector housings without deteriorating connection reliability between terminals. SOLUTION: When both housings 10, 30 are engaged with each other, the tab 21 of a male terminal 20 is inserted in the body part 51 of a female terminal 50. At this time, since a contact piece 57 in the body part 51 is formed at a position away from the insertion route of the tab 21, resistance force caused by connection between the terminals 20, 50 is not produced. During this time, a lock arm 43 provided in the female housing 30 elastically deflects, and elastically returns to engage with the male housing 10 when both housings 10, 30 are brought into a normal engaged state. After resistance force caused by engagement action of the lock arm 43 passes its peak, a protruding piece 16 abuts on an overhanging part 58, the contact piece 57 is pressed against the tab 21, and both connectors 20, 50 are connected.
