PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine a viscoelastic characteristic of a time area in a method for determining the viscoelastic characteristic of the time area represented by the sum of exponential functions of time from frequency distribution of viscoelastic values of a material, and to accurately calculate a physical characteristic depending on a time in a simulation method performed using a simulation model provided with a viscoelastic characteristic in which numerical analysis can be performed. SOLUTION: As distribution errors of the frequency distribution used when determining the viscoelastic characteristic of the time area from the frequency distribution of the viscoelastic of the obtained material, error of a value of storage/accumulation elasticity, error of a value of loss elasticity, error of a value of loss tangent, error of a value of a slope of the storage/accumulation elasticity relative to frequency, error of a value of a slope of the loss elasticity relative to the frequency, and error of a value of a slope of the loss tangent relative to the frequency are used, the viscoelastic characteristic of the time area is determined such that the distribution error becomes smaller than a predetermined threshold value.
