The invention relates to a method, a computer program and a print system for trapping print data having a plurality of objects. According to the invention, trappings are detected only on the edges of one respective object when the brightness of the respective object to the adjoining area differs by an amount that is higher than the predetermined threshold value. The method can be carried out in real time without causing any delay in the printing process. It can therefore be integrated into a print data flow for high-speed electrographic printers.
