Provided is a radio communication device having a diversity reception function and a reception function for receiving a plurality of different frequencies and capable of reducing a size and power consumption of itself. The radio communication device includes a VCO (9a), a VCO (9b), and a control unit (11) for controlling a supply destination and a local frequency of a local signal outputted from them. During a diversity operation, a transmission local signal is supplied from the VCO (9a) to a transmission unit (3) and a reception local signal is supplied from the VCO (9b) to9 all the reception units (6a, 6b). During a different frequency monitoring, the local signal supply destination of the VCO (9a) is switched from the transmission unit (3) to the reception unit (6b) so that a local signal of frequency different from the oscillation frequency of the VCO (9b) is supplied to the reception unit (6b) and the reception local signal is continuously supplied from the VCO (9b) to the other reception unit (6a). This reduces the number of VCO and reduces the mounting area. Since the local signal is supplied from one VCO (9b) to the respective reception units (6a, 6b) during diversity reception, it is possible to reduce the power consumption. |
