ALKALI IODIDE METAL SALT SOLUTION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

<p>A process for producing an alkali iodide metal salt solution through combustion of a treated liquid for combustion to thereby combust a combustible component of the treated liquid for combustion and cooling of the resultant gas containing decomposition products. The process comprises the steps of (a) preparing a liquid containing an alkali iodide metal salt, an inorganic salt forming substance capable of forming an inorganic salt containing an alkali metal at combustion and an organic compound; (b) adding to the liquid a precipitation solvent capable of precipitating the inorganic salt forming substance; (c) removing from the liquid the inorganic salt forming substance precipitated in the step (b) to thereby obtain a treated liquid for combustion; and (d) combusting the treated liquid for combustion and cooling the resultant gas containing decomposition products. Accordingly, there can be realized a process for producing an alkali iodide metal salt solution of high purity from a liquid containing an iodide compound.</p>
