CONDUCTIVE MEMBER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THERFOR, CHARGING MEMBER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member having high durability which can maintain a stable gap from an electrostatic latent image carrier and can uniformly charge the surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier, even when the conductive member is used over a long period under an environment condition, such as high temperature and high humidity.

SOLUTION: The conductive member having a conductive support and an electrical resistance adjusting layer formed on the surface of the conductive support has a high surface part, formed on the center of the surface of the conductive support so as to be expanded to the electrical resistance adjusting layer side and low surface parts formed on the periphery of the high surface part so as to form engaging recessed parts; a step is formed between the high surface part and each low surface part; the electrical resistance adjusting layer is formed on the whole high surface part and at least a part of the low surface parts; and an engaging projected part to be engaged with the engaging recessed part is formed on the conductive support side surface of the electrical resistance adjusting layer.
