摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perovskite oxide catalyst which shows a high oxidative activity to methane, does not contain any expensive palladium metal, oxidatively removes effectively methane contained much in an exhaust gas or the like at a temperature range of 600°C or less, and further, has a high thermal stability, and to provide an oxidation removing method of methane using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for oxidation-decomposing methane comprises a composite metal oxide, which contains lanthanum and iron and keeps an atom ratio of lanthanum and iron at substantially 1/1, and lanthanum and iron form a perovskite structure, does not contain any palladium, and has a high thermal stability. The oxidation-decomposing method of methane uses the catalyst. Thereby, the perovskite oxide catalyst with a high inversion rate of CH<SB>4</SB>can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
