<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably prevent adhesion of water vapor to a sensor element in an exhaust gas sensor and a controller using the exhaust gas sensor. <P>SOLUTION: An A/F sensor (exhaust gas sensor) 10 includes an inner cover 18 that is arranged outside the sensor element 12 and has a plurality of inner air holes 24, and an outer cover 20 that is arranged outside the inner cover 18 and has a plurality of outer air holes 22. The inner cover 18 has, as wall surfaces formed in a prism shape where cross sections perpendicular to the axial direction of the A/F sensor 10 are hexagonal, three facing surfaces 18a facing the outer air holes 22 of the wall surfaces, and three non-facing surfaces 18b that do not face the outer air holes 22 of the wall surfaces. The inner cover 18 has a heater 26 for heating the covers disposed on the facing surfaces 18a. The inner air holes 24 are disposed in the non-facing surfaces 18b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
