PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce gear shift shocks in gear shifting such as shifting-down in a vehicle provided with an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: This vehicle control device controls a vehicle provided with: at least one actuator 94 increasing and decreasing output torque of a power source 10; and the automatic transmission 14 automatically changing gear ratio between the power source and a drive wheels to desired gear position. The device is provided with: a specifying means 79, 90 specifying tendency of change of longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle with time in gear shifting of the automatic transmission; and an output torque reduction means 90 setting a control quantity of at least one actuator, based on the tendency specified to reduce output torque of the power source after completion of gear shifting.
