PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage cell without fear of deforming or breaking a strap by length variation of electrode poles or stress of the strap. SOLUTION: In the lead storage cell 1 equipped with a cylindrical covering member 10 covering an electrode pole 5, a deforming part 11 deforming a dimension of the longitudinal direction of the cylinder of the covering member to be reduced is provided on the covering member, when the covering member is compressed onto the longitudinal direction of the cylinder. The covering member forms a tapered part at its end part and its vicinity, and a plurality of slits are formed from the end part to a longitudinally center direction of the covering member, so that the deforming part can be structured.
