PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the rotor of a rotating electrical machine wherein it is possible to reduce force applied from a permanent magnet to a laminated steel plate by centrifugal force and radiate more heat from the permanent magnet. SOLUTION: The rotor 1 includes: the laminated steel plate 2 formed by laminating multiple magnetic steel plates in the direction of a rotating shaft: end plates 3, 4 that sandwich the laminated steel plate 2 from both the ends of the steel plate in the direction of the rotating shaft; and permanent magnets 5 provided in the laminated steel plate 2. A recess 8 in which a cooling member 9 is to be fit is formed at both the ends of the permanent magnets 5 protruded from both the ends of the laminated steel plate 2 in the direction of the rotating shaft 6. Recesses 7 in which the cooling members 9 are fit and the ends of the permanent magnets 5 protruded from the laminated steel plate 2 are fit are formed in the end plates 3, 4.
