PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system in which a wireless terminal is capable of continuing communication even when it moves out of a communication range during the communication. SOLUTION: In a case a wireless terminal 50 is in a state of the communication with a communication partner 80 connected from a base station 20 within a key telephone system to a public line network 300 (sequence SQ1), when a PBX 10 within the key telephone system detects that the wireless terminal moves out of the range of the base station 20 (sequence SQ2), a call under the communication is brought into a hold state, a timer is started for clocking a limit time during which holding is continued (sequences SQ3, SQ4), and the communication partner 80 is notified of setting of a state under holding (sequence SQ5). At a point of time when the wireless terminal 50 that has moved into the range of a public wireless communication range requests to the PBX 10 re-connection with the communication party 80 under holding within the limit time (sequence SQ6), the holding state of the communication partner 80 is canceled (sequence SQ7), and the state under communication is recovered (sequence SQ8).
