PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adaptive equalizer capable of improving deterioration in reception error rate even under a transmission path which fluctuates at high speed due to carrier frequency deviation, etc. SOLUTION: The adaptive equalizer is provided with: a transmission path fluctuation estimation part 2 which estimates the fluctuation of the transmission path in which waveform distortion by frequency selective fading is not included using received base band sample data and a known signal inserted into a radio frame; averaging processing part; a reference signal generation part 4 which generates a reference signal following the transmission path fluctuation by reducing an influence of the transmission path fluctuation except the frequency selective fading from the known signal; a transmission path estimation part 6 which estimates a transmission path in which the waveform distortion by the frequency selective fading is included using the reference signal; and an equalization processing part 5 which performs equalization processing by a convolutional operation between the received base band sample data and a transmission path estimation result by the transmission path estimation part 6.
