PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic processing apparatus that enables control strip processing to be started after confirming that a holder H for control strip which contains a control strip is suitably loaded in a development processing section 130. SOLUTION: The photographic processing apparatus is configured in such a manner that the control strip processing can not be started until confirming that the holder H for control strip is loaded in the development processing section 130 by using a communication function between the photographic processing apparatus and the holder for control strip. For example, the following problem can be eliminated: for example, since the control strip processing is started without loading the holder H for control strip and the control strip is not discharged from the development processing section 130 in a development completed state, a time-out error is judged to stop actuation of the photographic processing apparatus (some or all of components) and then it takes time to restart the photographic processing apparatus to unavoidably shorten its actual operation time.
