PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor element having equal sensitivity without a degradation of sensitivity in X-, Y-, Z-directions while being small in size and height and an azimuth sensor mountable on a mobile information terminal in which three magnetic sensor elements are disposed orthogonal to each other. SOLUTION: In this azimuth sensor, first to third magnetic sensors disposed on the X-, Y-, and Z-axes, respectively, for detection magnetic fields are disposed on a flat substrate. The first magnetic sensor is so disposed that the detection axis of the magnetic sensor is positioned parallel to the surface of the flat substrate. The second magnetic sensor is disposed on a first flat surface, at a predetermined angleθrelative to the flat substrate. The third magnetic sensor is disposed on a second flat surface at an angle (90°-θ) relative to the flat substrate and at an angle of 90°relative to the first flat surface.
