PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass paste which is free of lead, softens at a low temperature, and exhibits stabilized and good sealing properties, and a sealing method using the glass paste. SOLUTION: The glass paste composition has a vehicle containing a solvent and a dispersant, and a frit glass that is dispersed in the vehicle, wherein the frit glass contains vanadium oxide as a main component, is a glass powder having a glass transition temperature of 300-380°C, and has an average particle diameter less than 10μm. The glass paste composition seals adherends at a sealing temperature lower than the crystallization temperature of the frit glass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
