PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening method and device for surely fastening a fastener by preventing corotation of a fitting device and the fastener, even if phases of the fitting device and the fastener are deviated. SOLUTION: This fastening device is provided with a socket 11 formed with a fitting hole 112 fittable to a hexagonal bolt 50 and a driving device for rotating the socket 11. An edge part of the fitting hole 112 is chamfered to be an inclined surface 113. When a conical shape having a straight line inclined to a center shaft 111 of the socket 11 as a center shaft is assumed, the inclined surface 113 has the same shape as a side surface of the conical shape.
