PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert having longer service life even if used for medium cutting without impairing chip disposal performance in finishing cutting. SOLUTION: A projection 5 is formed on a rake face 2 inside a corner part 4A of a cutting blade 4, and a pair of projected parts 7 are extended over a wall face 5B of the projection 5 to the rake face 2 toward a side of the cutting blade 4 on both sides of a bisector L of the corner part 4A. The projected parts 7 are respectively provided with: a first wall face 7A facing a side of the corner part 4A and being separated with each other and extended to each end side of the corner part 4A as being extended from the wall face 5B to the side of the cutting blade 4; and a second wall face 7B crossing with the first wall face 7A at an intersection ridge line part M and facing the side of the cutting blade 4 continuous to an each end of the corner part 4A. The first and second wall faces 7A, 7B are formed as an inclination face being inclined to a side of the rake face 2 as being separated from the intersection ridge line part M and the intersection ridge line part M is crossed with the wall face 5B at a position lower than a top part 5A of the projection 5 on the side of the corner part 4A.
