The invention relates to a method for repairing a component (1), particularly steam turbine component, particularly an inner housing or outer housing and a valve body (1) of a steam turbine. According to the invention, the method is characterized by a protective layer being applied to the component (1) over a damaged spot (7). The protective layer is based on an iron-based alloy. A thermally insulating layer is applied to said iron-based adhesive layer, minimizing the thermal influences and thus inhibiting structural damage, crack formation and propagation.
